Hey y’all! If you bottle your homebrew, I’ve got one piece of equipment I’m begging you to get: a bottle drying tree, like this FastRack bottle drying tree.

My favorite tool, hands down

In my list of 5 brew tools you should own, I said the bottle drying tree is 100% my favorite. It saves you time and space, especially as you collect more brewing equipment and have more beer to store.

My experience

Washing and then sanitizing 40 to 60+ bottles without this thing would be a nightmare. I regularly use 50cl bottles and go through 45 to 55 every time I brew. Even when I store 5 liters in a keg, I still use about 30 to 40 bottles.

I also have two little kids, so space is precious, and I need to be able to move all those bottles quickly to a place little fingers can’t reach. The drying tree lets me hang my bottles vertically in a small space, where they dry like a champ and stay clean.

How I use it

In my post on time-saving tools for cleaning and sanitizing, I explain that I use it at least twice every batch. I hang my bottles after washing so they can dry. Then on bottling day I pull them off, sanitize them and hang them right back up until I’m ready to fill them. I even use it to dry out my kegs.

You can see how often it shows up in my full brewing routine, from cleaning to bottling day.

Which one?

Besides the one above, here’s 45-bottle drying tree that I’ve linked to as well. Seriously, I have no idea how I’d do it without my bottle drying tree. You can brew it!
